Recommended 12 Wheel and Tire For Sailboat Trailer With Speed Rating Over 80MPH

Question:

I would like to replace my 4 lug 8inch wheels with 12inch high speed wheels and tires. I can raise my fenders. I have about 12 inches max from axle center to the boat. Its for my sailboat trailer total weight is 620lbs. I want to pull it at interstate highway speeds so I can run with the 80 mph traffic. What do you suggest? Thanks in advance! I recommend the Kenda KR25 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Aluminum HWT Wheel # AM31208HWT for what you are needing. You will need to take some measurements to ensure you will not have any clearance issues. This tire is 21.3" tall and 5.7" wide. Ideally you will want to have 1" of sidewall clearance along with 3" of vertical clearance to allow your suspension to travel. You can compare this with the dimensions on your current tire to verify if you will have any fitment issues. The tire is of radial construction and rated for up to 81mph.
