Question:
Hello! I have a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with factory installed tow package. I would like to add a trailer break controller but when I look under the dash, I do not see the connector. I am looking for some pointers and a recommendation for the best break controller for my vehicle. Thanks!

Based on my research you will need to start by removing the panel held in place with 2 fasteners above the brake and gas pedal. Next, locate and remove the small kick panel (approximately 5x6) on the far left wall under the dash. You will find the connector tucked in, taped up with black electrical tape. You will have to remove the tape to access the connector. Once you get it free, you should be able to route it above the hood release cable.
For a brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake # RED24FR. The main unit installs behind the dash with only the control knob visible. This means it won't take up additional space in your Jeep, and also gives it a nice clean look. The knob controls the braking power and also acts as the manual override. You will also need the # 331-TPH-017 and # TK93VR to be able to connect to your factory port for installation.
