Can 20' Roller Tube for Solera RV Awnings Be Curt Down to 18'

Can a 20 Lippert roller tube be cut down to an 18? I cannot seem to locate an 18 roller tube. Also, I am needing the fabric black to fit the 18 foot tube. And does it come with the guard/shield?

The awning roller tubes like the Replacement 20' Roller Tube for Solera RV Awnings part # LC33FR can be cut down but if you're looking for the fabric and roll tube it would make much more sense to go with the pre-assembled options we offer like the Replacement 18' Wide Roller with Fabric part # LCV000211506 or part # LCV000335319 which comes with a shield. These are both solid black in color.
