Question:
I am looking to get a Trailer Hitch for my Subaru Outback to pull a drift boat and was wondering if there was a specific brand that was better. I have looked into both Curt and Draw-Tite and did not know if there was a difference. The boat is light only about 1,500 pounds including the trailer.

Expert Reply:
The Draw-Tite # 75673 hitch has a higher towing capacity than the Curt # 13390, but because the vehicle itself is limited to 2700 lbs towing/200 lbs tongue weight, the higher hitch capacity would not be usable.
The Curt hitch is less expensive, but has fewer attachment points to the vehicle (total of 4 versus 6 for the Draw-Tite). Because I prefer more attachment points to the vehicle, I would lean toward the Draw-Tite # 75673. Quality-wise, the hitches are comparable.
