Can this rack be modify to set lower on the roof? Height is a factor for me.

The Rackem Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack # RA-28 does adjust horizontally to allow it to fit trailer roofs from 4-feet to 8-1/2-feet wide but its height is fixed based on the position of the roof rain gutters, which are required in order to install this rack kit. It offers a 400-lb load capacity.

So where exactly is everyone cutting off excess height at? From that 9.5" section on your picture?

I also have the same question. I have a flat roof on my trailer, and would definitly want to cu the height down a bit. Seems like they're a "universal fit" to include trailers with a round roof.
