Best Brake Controller for 2019 Ford Ranger

Question:

Yesterday I pulled the trigger on a SalemFSX280RTX toy hauler. Tongue weight wise, it’s just about at the capacity of my vehicle, but I was told that it shouldn’t be an issue because of both loading toys in the rear garage will have a teeter totter effect and pull some weight off the tongue, plus using a weight distribution hitch will also take some of the weight off the tongue in effect, so I should be fine. As part of the deal, shop is including an Equlizer 10k hitch and installing it. But the real question I have is that this particular shop doesn’t even offer traditional wired brake controllers. Vehicle is 2019 Ford Ranger with factory tow package. Receiver rated for 750lbs of tongue weight and 7500lb of towing capacity.

The only trailer brake controller options we offer for a 2019 Ford Ranger are wireless since there is no trailer brake controller plug under the dash. I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller part # C51180 which you will control and setup using your phone so you don't need to worry about leaning a new device. I would also like to point out that you can still use the controller even when you don't have signal. This brake controller simply plug into the trailer connector so there's no drilling into the dash or worrying about banging your knee on it like you would for a traditional controller.
