Will New Rooftop Accessories Work with Yakima Round Bars and How to Convert to Aero

Question:

so I have a round yakima rack and many of the accessories these days are designed to fit flat racks. is there some sort of block or adapter I can purchase that will bite into the round bar and thus prevent the adapter from rotating and also convert it to a flat mount so that accessories can mount more firmly?

The vast majority of rooftop mounted accessories nowadays work with all different kinds of crossbar shapes such as round, square, aero/elliptical and most factory crossbars. If you're having issues with the accessories moving when used with round bars, try wrapping the bar where the clamp grabs on with electrical tape. The only way around this would be to switch over to the more common aero shaped bar. There isn't any sort of adapter for this so you'd need a new system which will depended on the vehicle.

The Yakima JetStream Crossbars like part # Y00426 are what I recommend switching to. If you can get me the vehicle info I can make sure you get the rest of the parts needed and the right size.
