Question:
Looking for after market brake controller for My 2022 F150. I took it to a place that installs these things every day, all day and they said there wasnt an after market that would work with it but the ECHO wireless. We have that but it started grabbing on slow speeds no matter how we adjust on our last trip. It was ranning so I dont know if the brakes were just wet. Our truck has the towing package and harness for the factory brake controller but I cant seem to get the electric brake controller from Ford. It has been on order since June. So is there truly an after market that can now be installed?

When it comes to installing an after market brake controller in your 2022 Ford F-150 I recommend The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. The cool thing about the P3 controller is that is 5 storable setting that allows you to customize the controller for multiple trailers, varying loads or different drivers. So if you trust someone else to drive your vehicle for towing a trailer and they prefer a stronger stopping power you can adjust to allow it to happen without messing with your setting.
The controller has a customizable LCD screen that will make it easier to read and see what is going on if there is any drastic changes in your towing performance. The Tekonsha Wiring Adapter # 22292 is a plug and play installation that attaches to the back of the controller and then into the factory connection that is located of your dash.
We had this controller set up and it worked. The power wire doesn't always look to be ran so I would test the port that the harness would plug into to make sure power is available. If there is no power you would need to run the power line that is suggest like The Dexter Predator DX2 Trailer Brake Controller # 58-8.
I attached an installation video link below. If you have to run the power wire the install video is for a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado but the installation process will be similar to your 2021 Ford F-150.
