Question:
I have a 4 wire hook up on my car Wire 1 – Right turn/brake Wire 2 – Left turn/brake Wire 3 – Running lights Wire 4 – Ground My trailer has separate lights that uses 5 of the 6 wires from the 6 wire plug. I do not use the extra power wire. Top light is running lights Bottom light is for break lights and Signal lights. 2 lights on each side of trailer Wire 1 – Right turn Wire 2 – Left turn Wire 3 – Running lights Wire 4 – Brake lights Wire 5 – Ground Wire 6 – Extra power for your use as needed What do I need to purchase to make this work and how do I wire it.

Okay, so what you have is a car with combined lighting and trailer with separate lighting, and all you need to do is order the following converter:
-Tail Light Converter # C56196
Wiring it is pretty simple and I have added a cut out of the instructions for the # C56196 which explain how to do that. What you'll do is connect the right turn/brake or your car to the green wire of the converter, the left turn/brake to the yellow wire, and then ground the white wire.
Then just connect the converter's yellow wire to the trailer's left turn wire, the green wire to the trailer's right turn wire, and the red wire to the trailer's brake lights wire.
