Correct Adapter Module For BrakeRite EOH System on 2020 Ford F-350

I had the disc brakes installed on my 5th wheel back in March of 2018. At that time I had a 1999 F350 Super Duty. The used one of the magnets with the BrakeRite to make it work with my truck. The disc brakes worked great! As soon as I touched the brake pedal, I could feel the disc brakes on the RV kick in. Fast forward to 2020, I bought a new 2020 F350. I also replaced the brake pads on my RV. I suspected that the brakes were not working on the RV. When I hit the brake I never felt the trailer brakes kicking in like I did with the other truck. I had the truck checked at the first dealer and the said everything on the truck was working. Someone told me I had to replace the magnet with a dexter module, so I replaced that and it still does not seem to work. This week I rotated the tires and checked all brake pads, they are as good as the day I installed 2 years ago, no wear at all. With the tire off the ground I had the wife hit the brakes and I could spin the tires freely. If she squeezed the actuator in the truck, the trailer breakers will lock up. Do I have the correct module for the 2020 ford or is there a known problem with this brake system and the 2020 ford? See attached picture of module.

Thank you for the photo (and purchase!) and I can tell you that for your 2020 Ford F-350 you do have the correct module with the Adapter Module for BrakeRite Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # DX35FR.

There is not an issue with these and the 2020 F-350, and based on what you are describing it sounds like a potential issue with the brake controller or wiring, and since the brake controller works with the manual override, it would specifically be and issue with the stop light switch wire, which is what activates the brake controller.

But first, just to make sure, check your F-350's 7-way and see if there is any corrosion or dirt built up that may be hampering its functionality. If so, or if there are bent pins or other damage, you can replace it with the Hopkins # HM40975.

If the 7-way looks fine, check the red wire leading into the brake controller when you step on the brake pedal, and test it with a circuit tester like # PTW2979. If there is no power then there could be a blown fuse, and you'd need to check it. Otherwise, the wiring may be somehow damaged, pinched or frayed so you'll need to check that.

This is exact same adapter as the Dexter part number you mentioned with the part #DX35FR. Now with that said your 2022 Ford F-250 shouldn't need this adapter so that makes me think you just need to put your brake controller into hydraulic mode.
