Best Towing Parts for Gooseneck and 5th Wheel Towing for a 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Published 09/29/2022

Question:

I'll be using my 2022 F-350 for a lot of job - gooseneck towing, 5th wheel towing, and hauling stuff in the bed. What hitch system do you recommend for this? I currently have a plain 8' bed.

Thank you for the details!

I recommend installing the Reese Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # RP39FR on your 2022 Ford F-350 because it gives you the Ford OEM puck system. This means you have the 4 pucks for adding a 5th wheel as well as the center receiver hole for a gooseneck hitch ball. When you aren't towing the truck bed will be clutter-free so it's easier to load up the bed for hauling cargo.

To tow a gooseneck trailer I recommend picking up the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit # BWGNXA2061 because the gooseneck ball has a release handle instead of small lever, then to tow a 5th wheel trailer I recommend the Curt PowerRide # C48BR because it has a multi-directional, cast yoke head and a massive 30K towing capacity. The PowerRide also installs directly to the Reese puck system so no additional adapter is needed for this application.

If you don't already have a 7-Way socket in your truck bed I recommend picking up the Bargman # 50-97-410-010 so it's easier to connect/disconnect your trailer wiring.

Attached is an installation video of the Reese system as well as reviews of both the B&W and Curt systems for you to check out.
