Features to know about

Rated for Serious 5th Wheel Loads: 30,000 lbs GTW and 7,500 lbs Vertical Load Limit

The Curt PowerRide is built to handle the biggest fifth-wheel campers and toy haulers out there. With a 30,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 7,500 lbs vertical load limit, it gives you the confidence to haul heavy rigs long distances without sweating the weight. The cast steel body and durable dark gray teridium finish make it feel solid and secure every time you hook up, giving you a hitch that stays steady through tough miles and rough roads.

Easy Connection Every Time: Interlocking Dual Jaws and Color-Coded Lock Indicator

Nothing beats a clean hookup. The PowerRide’s interlocking 2-jaw system wraps completely around the king pin for 360-degree contact, cutting down on rattle compared to slide-bar designs. Once you’re backed in, the color-coded 3-point indicator lets you know exactly where you stand—whether the hitch is ready to couple, uncouple, or tow. You can see the status from the cab at a glance and hit the road knowing your trailer is locked in tight.

Smooth Pulls and Quiet Rides: Multi-Directional Cast Yoke Head with Wear Plates

You’ll notice right away how smooth this hitch feels on the road. The cast steel yoke head tilts in multiple directions to match your trailer’s movement, helping calm down bumps and rough transitions. Integrated wear plates keep the motion fluid and reduce metal-on-metal friction so there’s no need for grease. The result is a quieter ride with less chucking through the truck and trailer connection.

Quick Breakdown When You Need Your Bed Clear: One-Pin Head Removal and Smart Grip Points

When it’s time to unload or haul something else, the PowerRide makes it easy to clear your bed. Pull one pin to lift off the hitch head, then grab the strategic grip points that give you leverage when lifting or moving it. The design breaks down into manageable pieces so one person can handle removal without special tools or extra help—perfect for switching between daily driving and towing duty.

Built for Everyday Use by Real Towing Enthusiasts: Ergonomic Handle and No-Grease Design

From setup to storage, this hitch is made to simplify every step. The ergonomic handle is self-resetting after uncoupling so it’s ready for your next hookup right away, and it operates easily from the side of the bed. Together with integrated wear plates that eliminate messy grease, it keeps your hands clean and your towing routine straightforward every time you roll out.

Love it. It’s much lighter than my slide hitch i had before this one. It’s also much easier to hook up than my previous hitch.

by:

Excellent hitch. Easy to install on my F350. Accomplished in about 40 min. It is also easy to remove by myself as it breaks down into two pieces. Definitely a great purchase.

by:

Perfect fit, fast shipping. Installed hitch in 40 minutes.

by:

Instructions were simple to use and helpful. I would have given 5 stars but yhe videos I saw from Curt and eTrailor show pulling the pin and easily sliding the head off of it's base. Mine is so tight, I couldn't lift it off at all. I sm glad it's tight but it would be nice to be able to remove it as it is SO HEAVY.

Great product excellent service thank you Adam E

by:

Everything worked great, low profile which works great for my application, easy to install.

by:

I love the hitch. Beautiful and easy to install. I have not towed with it yet .

by:

By far the Best hitch I have ever had!! The ease of unhooking and hooking anyone could do it. I was a big fan of another hitch until I got this. Curt you guys did it with this one absolutely would recommend this product to everyone!!!

Works as advertised, so far one of the best hitches I’ve owned. The wear plates are worthless broke one right out of the gate. I removed them and use a silicone lube plate.

by:

This hitch has been great. So much so that I just ordered another one last week. The only thing I don't like are the 2 plastic pieces that lay on top of the fifth wheel plate. They both broke within the first 2 weeks. So I moved th and didn't replace. I just run a Lube Plate instead and it works great. Curtis needs to just get rid of those and just leave the raw steel.

I just got back from picking up my new 5th wheel in Ohio. I drove back to Massachusetts and this hitch performed flawlessly. I am very happy with my Curt PowerRide hitch and with etrailer.com.

Congrates on the new 5th wheel, Gary! What did you get?

by:

The ease of use and function is fantastic ! Unfortunately curt had to warranty a complete replacement after 4-5 months due to the internal main head-pivot bolts backing out and bending the retaining caps. The warranty process was fast and the people were great. I do highly recommend this fifth wheel. I combine it with my F450 and 40.5’ grand design fifth wheel.

by:

Very smooth, assembly pretty easy, received it on time and the people that helped me were very professional.
Thanks Gary

Heavy duty hitch. Easy to install. Color coded hitch status is helpful.

by:

Replaced the same hitch but was rails before. New truck uses the PUC system. Love this hitch.

by:

Expeditious delivery, item very well packaged, easy to follow instructions. Had a few questions post delivery - etrailer customer service did a phenomenal job in answering all questions. Thank you etrailer!!!

This is a very nice product! I haven’t towed long distances with it yet but just moving the camper around I could see the camper going on angles but I never felt it in the truck. I’m hoping to do a double tow to the sand dunes in a couple weeks and really put it to the test. As far as the purchase from etrailer, it was a no brainer! Always fast shipping, best price and it was greased and ready for install and I’m guessing they threw in the extra pins and cotter keys even though they weren’t needed with the puck system.

@Kevin Glad to hear it's still working well for you! What kind of 5th wheel are you towing with it?

by:

This was SO easy to install into my truck! While at first I was a little confused on how it went together, it was much simpler than I thought. I did have to purchase a torque wrench to make sure the bolts were tighten the proper amount. I pull a 42' Grand Design fifth wheel, weighing about 17k, and the hookup and unhooking are ridiculously simple. Once I back the pin into the hitch, it hooks itself; I just have to put the locking pin in and drive away. For unhooking, it's as easy as pulling the locking pin, the pulling the handle to release the jaws. Now, I'm not a tall woman, so I have to stand on my tires, but I do it myself every time. After a year of pulling our rig across 8 states, I am still so happy with this purchase. The bumper pads have protected that area on my rig, and it's so easy to use. No regrets in this purchase!

Its been almost 2 years of pulling the rig and the hitch hasnt failed me once. Still simple and easy to use, still locks tight, and hasnt jammed up once even though its always left in the bed of my truck. I had to remove it once to transport a motorcycle Im rebuilding, and the removal and reinstall was super simple. Its heavy, but not unmanageable. Highly recommend!

Hey James, the height range of the Curt PowerRide part # C48BR that you referenced is from the top of the puck in your truck bed to the top of the hitch head where the pin box would set.
