Where to Connect 12V Power for Trailer Wring on 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge

Question:

The instructions for the wiring harness say to route a wire to the black/negative battery connection in the engine compartment, and also show a tire below the trunk floor. I suspect the wiring layout in the trunk will be similar even though the Recharge doesnt have a spare tire. But theres no obvious access to a 12v battery in the Recharge. Do you have details on how the towing wiring harness should connect in the pure-electric model?

It looks like there is a positive terminal connection near the fuse box under the hood of your 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge that you would use for a jump start situation. Since that should have sufficient 12V power when your vehicle is turned on that's where I recommend running the 12V power wire to when installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118792.

hello, In regard to this issue, I believe there is a 12v socket in the rear. Could I tap into that somehow to avoid running wires to the front? thanks, PP

@Poconopuppy Technically? Yes. I wouldn't advise doing this though because you run the risk of overloading that circuit, and the whole point of the 12V wire is to bypass the OEM circuits on your vehicle so thy aren't affected by your trailer wiring.
