I would be happy to help you set your 2022 Ford Explorer up for towing a small trailer. I recommend using the etrailer Trailer Hitch item # e29YR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts directly to your Explorer's frame with included hardware.

I recommended this hitch over other models because of its matte protective finish and it's affordable price. The matte finish offers superior rust protection and it also helps to conceal the hitch better next to your Explorer's trim. This hitch is comparable in capacity and design to other options but it will save you some money.

To tow with your Explorer you will also need a wiring harness item # 118599 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
