Recommended Base Plate Kit for a 2020 Chevy Colorado

I have a 2020 Chevy Colorado and am stuck between two options of baseplates for flat towing. I want a baseplate that will peak through the front bumper “vent gap” so as to not sacrifice the factory recovery hooks. Pictures on your website show the Curt custom baseplate is exactly what I’m looking for. However on the BlueOx website, their BX1746 baseplate shows the same setup that I want but customer pictures on your website shows otherwise. Can you confirm how the BlueOx baseplate “BLU93FR“ is positioned on a 2020 Chevy Colorado?

I would be happy to help you. I took a look at the installation instructions for both the Curt item # C88FR and the BlueOx item # BLU93FR custom base plate kits. They both have the same subtle poke through design. However, the Curt item # C88FR is the only one that allows you to retain your factory tow hooks. The BlueOx doesn't have the support bar so it mounts in the same location as the hooks and does not leave room to have them reinstalled. I have linked both sets of installation instructions below.
The Curt item # C88FR fits basic Z71 package but does not fit Z71 Trail Boss models. It also fits ZR2 models, but does not fit ZR2 Bison edition. It fits the 4 wheel drive without Adaptive Cruise Control models.
The BlueOx item # BLU93FR is designed to fit the ZR2 4 wheel drive without Adaptive Cruise Control models.

You will need the Demco Air Force One item # SM99243 if your motorhome has air brakes. Systems that are not designed for air brakes can cause false braking in your Colorado.
