Published 09/14/2022 >
Question:
I bought and had Installed a Curt 30k power ride with 7,500 lbs of max pin weight. Im hauling a low profile Kaufman 3 car trailer. Is it safe? Also, this hitch moves side to side, not sure it’s safe. Please advise.

As long as you're within the 30K towing and 7,500 lb tongue weight limits of the Curt PowerRide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C22ER it will be safe for the hitch. You'll have to check the tongue weight and overall weight of the trailer though to make sure you're within those specs.
Another thing you need to keep in mind is the weight capacity of your tow vehicle. If your loaded trailer weighs in at 25,000 lbs but your truck is only rated for 21,000 lbs then the Curt PowerRide itself can handle the weight of the trailer but your truck will become damaged in this scenario.
So, in summary you'll have to check the max weight capacity of your tow vehicle and then make sure your loaded trailer is within the weight ratings of your truck or the Curt PowerRide - whichever is lower. There will be some side to side movement in the hitch head to accommodate trailer movement but if you're seeing something aggressive or that looks like it's loose that would be an indication that the hitch is overloaded or something isn't working right and you need to investigate it.
