Features to know about

Rated to Handle the Heaviest 5th Wheels: 30,000 lbs GTW and 7,500 lbs Vertical Load Limit

Built for serious towing, the Curt PowerRide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch is rated for 30,000 lbs GTW and a 7,500 lbs vertical load limit. Its cast steel main body and durable dark gray teridium finish bring the kind of strength and corrosion resistance trusted by folks pulling big fifth wheels and heavy haulers. Tested and rated per SAE J2638 standards, it’s a hitch that feels rock solid when you’re rolling down the highway with a full load behind you.

Locked In and Easy to Read: Interlocking Dual Jaws with Color-Coded Indicator

The patented interlocking 2-jaw system wraps the king pin for complete 360-degree contact, cutting down on rattle and giving a quieter, more stable pull compared to slide-bar setups. A 3-point color indicator shows coupling status at a glance—so you always know if it’s ready to couple, uncouple, or tow. The ergonomic, self-resetting handle sits within easy reach at the side of the bed, making both hookup and disconnect quick and clear.

Smooth Ride Over Every Mile: Multi-Directional Cast Yoke Head with Integrated Wear Plates

The PowerRide’s multi-directional cast yoke head tilts in multiple directions to soak up bumps and road flex so your trailer tracks smoothly behind you. Integrated wear plates keep movement free and quiet while eliminating the need for grease between hookups. It’s the kind of design that takes the harshness out of long-distance hauls and helps protect both truck and trailer from strain.

Simplify Setup and Removal: One-Pin Head Release with Ergonomic Grip Points

When it’s time to clear your bed or store the hitch, the PowerRide breaks down easily. A single pin releases the head, letting one person remove it without special tools. Strategic grip points built into the frame make handling straightforward even though it’s a heavy-duty setup. With height adjustment from 13" to 17", it’s easy to dial in level towing and keep bed rail clearance right where you want it.

Expeditious delivery, item very well packaged, easy to follow instructions. Had a few questions post delivery - etrailer customer service did a phenomenal job in answering all questions. Thank you etrailer!!!

This is a very nice product! I haven’t towed long distances with it yet but just moving the camper around I could see the camper going on angles but I never felt it in the truck. I’m hoping to do a double tow to the sand dunes in a couple weeks and really put it to the test. As far as the purchase from etrailer, it was a no brainer! Always fast shipping, best price and it was greased and ready for install and I’m guessing they threw in the extra pins and cotter keys even though they weren’t needed with the puck system.

by:

Huge upgrade over the "universal" set up on my previous truck. I love the compact size and jaw position indicators. If I could change anything I would extended the handle and mechanical interlock mechanism so I didn't have to climb in/on the bed to secure it.

by:

This was SO easy to install into my truck! While at first I was a little confused on how it went together, it was much simpler than I thought. I did have to purchase a torque wrench to make sure the bolts were tighten the proper amount. I pull a 42' Grand Design fifth wheel, weighing about 17k, and the hookup and unhooking are ridiculously simple. Once I back the pin into the hitch, it hooks itself; I just have to put the locking pin in and drive away. For unhooking, it's as easy as pulling the locking pin, the pulling the handle to release the jaws. Now, I'm not a tall woman, so I have to stand on my tires, but I do it myself every time. After a year of pulling our rig across 8 states, I am still so happy with this purchase. The bumper pads have protected that area on my rig, and it's so easy to use. No regrets in this purchase!

by:

I haven’t used it yet but this is very heavy and well Bilt I would recommend this to anyone.
Also very happy with my experience with etrailer it is so nice to talk to someone that is willing to go out of there way to help you looking forward to working with them again in the future

Hi it’s an easy to use hitch made tough.

by:

Really built heavy and strong. I'm really impressed with the construction of the unit. I'm very pleased with it.

by:

Grip pad damaged during shipping - Missing hardware

by:

Very well built but thats CURT. When towing very quite and stable.

by:

I would give this hitch 5 stars but it was damaged when I got it. The handle was apparently dented when it was shipped so I had the choice of either sending sending back a 125 pound hitch or banging out a dent in the handle and getting the damn thing installed.

by:

Great customer service

by:

Needed to have a hitch that I could adjust to sit lower and this Curt 30k was perfect. Of course I ordered it from etrailer with free shipping and best price around. I love the fact that you can track your order every step of the way. UPS delivered it a day early. Whole process was 5 star

by:

Looks great and super super fast shipping also Paula was a pleasure to deal with thanks guys

by:

Excellent on all levels.

Of all the products I have purchased from E-Trailer, the CURT 5th wheel hitch has been the most disappointing. After installing the unit, I noticed workmanship items that are not consistent with a high quality unit. The legs and main body did not consistently align and there is excessive chucking (in my opinion) that occurs while traveling. When I addressed this with CURT, I received no response regarding the misalignment and was told the chucking was within industry standards! Two previous 5th wheel hitches did not "chuck" as this unit does.
When I addressed these concerns with E-Trailer and requested a refund, I was informed since the unit had been installed no refund was allowable. I asked how I would hear/feel the chucking w/o installing and got no viable response then as well.
I will eventually go with a GenY gooseneck adapter.
Do not support CURT, they do not stand behind their products and customer service is pretty much nonexistent!!

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Rails and Brackets for a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 w/a 30,000 lbs 5th Wheel Hitch
Hey Joe. Sorry but I do not have any hitches that fit 5th wheel rails with a 19.5" spaced mounting holes. They all fit the industry standard 20-1/2" spacing now unless it's a proprietary hitch. My only option is going to be the one you don't want to do. To use the Curt PowerRide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # C22ER you were looking at, Curt Universal Fifth Wheel Base Rails item # C99JR and the Curt Semi-Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit for Dodge Ram 2500/3500 item # C16301. • Can Curt Hitch Fit Same Rails as Older Curt Fifth Wheel Hitch
Hey Jesse, yes a standard fifth wheel hitch like the Curt part # C22ER which is a 30k fifth wheel hitch. This will work really great with your RV and since the handle does not stick up it would fit under your tonneau as well.

  • Should The Jaws Of The Curt PowerRide 5th Wheel Hitch Be Left Open Or Closed When Not In Use
Hey Mark, It honestly just comes down to personal preference so you can choose to leave them open or closed based on your needs. Most people tend to either close the jaws and try to lock them so no one can use the hitch or they leave it open and ready to couple to make hooking up the trailer the next time easier. My only advice would be to protect the hitch from the element regardless of whether you leave the jaws open or closed. Whether its a tonneau cover over the bed of the truck,...

The highest rated Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter we offer is 30,000 lbs, part # KPG5-Q30. Hey Robert, At that weight you would either need to change out the pin box to a gooseneck style pin box and tow use the gooseneck hitch ball or remove the Turnoverball hitch and install base rails to use a higher capacity. If you want to go the gooseneck route then you'll want a Gen-Y torsion pin box to help absorb road shock/vibration. Hello Nelson, thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to say that we do not offer a replacement for the Leland AF 7930 pin box. This model has been discontinued for quite some time, and direct replacements are no longer made. If you wish to reduce the chucking and bouncing, you may want to consider changing your 5th wheel hitch. • Why Doesn't The Curt PowerRide Hitch Head Pivot
Manufacturers have found that the pivoting can lead to issues with certain pin boxes (Rota-Flex) and can actually cause an opposite effect hurting your ride quality. The Curt PowerRide # C48BR has a bit of give to it to help with coupling and ride quality but the main thing with a hitch this heavy duty is simply stability and strength to handle the load of the trailer. I've attached a short video below of the standard PowerRide # C22ER that Conner made going over the features of the hitch....
