Troubleshooting A Furrion AC Unit That Keeps The Temperature 10 Degrees Above Settings

Updated 08/31/2022 | Published 08/30/2022

Question:

My furrion premium thermostat keeps the cabin temperature almost exactly 10 degrees above the temp set on the thermostat. Took me a while to figure that out, but if I set the thermostat for 70, it keeps it at 80. 64, keeps it at 74. I have a support ticket into Furrion. Ideas? Generally very flaky setup with the sensor in the rooftop unit, etc.. I wouldnt do it again.

This is actually a very common issue when it comes to RV air conditioner systems, just like your Furrion Chill RV Air Conditioner # FR42PV. With the temperature sensor sitting up in the rooftop unit it doesn't get a good reading of what the room is actually at. The solution to this is to keep the fan running on the unit the entire time so that it pulls the hot air up past the sensor and will kick on the condenser to cool the trailer.
