Features to Know About

Fits the Opening You Already Have

ge profile rv water heater

Replacing a water heater can turn into a bigger project if the new unit doesn't match your existing setup. This model is built around standard RV dimensions, fitting a 12-3/4" x 12-3/4" cutout used by most RV water heaters. Youre working with the space you already have instead of modifying cabinets or exterior openings just to make it fit.

What to Expect From a 10-Gallon Tank

Tank water heaters dont provide endless hot water since they store a set amount and then need time to recover. This 10-gallon system provides more capacity than a 6-gallon unit, allowing for longer use before the tank is depleted. It works well for extended showers or back-to-back use, but still requires recovery time after extended demand.

Run Gas, Electric, or Both

Power availability changes from one campsite to the next, and this heater adapts to both. You can run propane when you're off-grid, switch to 120V electric when plugged in, or use both to speed up heating. The system uses 12V DC power for ignition and control, so it operates consistently alongside your RV's electrical system.

Reheats Water After Each Use

Once the tank is depleted, the system brings water back up to temperature before it's ready again. The 10,000 Btu burner handles that recovery cycle, reducing downtime between uses.

Built for Long-Term Use and Maintenance

Over time, water heaters deal with mineral buildup and corrosion, especially in varying water conditions. The porcelain enamel tank helps protect against wear, while the accessible anode rod makes routine maintenance straightforward. Staying on top of basic upkeep helps keep the system running reliably trip after trip.

Includes Door and Control Components

Installation isn't just about the heater itself. It's also about having the right exterior and controls to run it. This heater includes a black access door and control switch, giving you the components needed to complete the install and operate gas, electric, or both heating modes without sourcing extra parts.

Quick response from order to delivery. The water heater arrived as scheduled and was nicely packaged preventing damage during shipping and handling. This will be a nice upgrade to our 5th wheel.

Hot water the way you're used to. We switched from a tankless to this tanked water heater for consistency, comfort, and convenience. With the 12 3/4" hole size it fit perfectly in the existing cut out. The door is just slightly too small to cover all the holes from the previous tankless as seen in the photos. The 26" depth was no problem for us as we had the room after adjusting a few plumbing lines. Install was straight forward as we had an extra breaker for a future dishwasher and the LP line was long enough. When attaching plumbing do yourself a favor and skip all the Teflon tapes and go straight for the anti-vibration quick dry pipe dope. The hot side drips ever so slightly when it gets to temperature with tapes. My pressure relief valve was dripping on the first 2 heat cycles where it attached at the tank and the relief valve itself was found to drip while heating several times, both have seemed to resolve on their own with use.
Dual fuel heating takes about 30 minutes to reach temp with colder water supply.
Electric draws 11.5a / 1500w and only took about 40 minutes to recover after a 10 minute shower. We found the times to be consistent with previous tanked heaters.
For us the ability to have hot water at any pressure or flow was well worth the change.

  • Looking for 10 Gallon Standard Water Heater Recommendation for RV
Hey Jeff, for a 10 gallon standard RV water heater we have the GE Profile part # GE24RR which would work great as a replacement for your Atwood. GE makes really nice RV appliances so you'll really like this and it will be a solid upgrade over the Atwood you have now. Have you had bad experiences with the tankless setups?

  • Does Furrion Tankless Water Heater Connect to 12V or 120V Power
Hey Richard, it's great to hear from you again! The Furrion tankless water heaters, like part # FR93FR, run off of 12V power and the propane system on your motorhome. For something that runs off of 120V power you'll need the 10 Gallon GE system that comes in Black # GE24RR as well as White # GE97RR. This means you'll still be using a tank, but it matches up to the connections you've used so it will be a simpler install in those regards. Does this sound like a good alternative, or are...

  • Replacement for Atwood GC10A-4E Water Heater
Hey Tom, that does sound like you have a bad board on your GC10A-4E. Atwood is no longer around so unless you can find replacement parts somewhere the only option would be to completely replace the water heater. You can swap it out for a similar 10 gallon water heater like the GE Profile RV Water Heater - Gas/Electric # GE97RR (white) or # GE24RR (black). This fits cutouts measuring 12-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" wide x 26-1/4" deep. You can also switch to a tankless water heater like the Furrion...

  • Does etrailer Carry Dometic WH-10GEA Water Heater to Replace Atwood GCH10A-3E
Hi Fred; we carry the Dometic # DMC74FR which is the 6 gallon version but for whatever reason we have never had their 10 gallon water heater WH-10GE. You can stick with the Dometic if you want but I'm sorry to say you will have to pick it up elsewhere. Alternatively, you can replace your Atwood with a different 10 gallon water heater like the GE Profile RV Water Heater - Gas/Electric # GE97RR (white) or # GE24RR (black). This fits cutouts measuring 12-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" wide x 26-1/4"...

  • Replacement Hot Water Heater to Replace an Atwood GEH16EXT 10 Gallon
Hey, Jack. Thanks for reaching out. We do have a great replacement option for your Atwood unit. The GE Profile RV Water Heater is a 10-gallon model like your current one and is available as part # GE97RR, white door, or # GE24RR, black door. That said, you’ll want to double-check your available space, as the GE unit has slightly different dimensions. The heater itself measures 12-5/8" tall x 12-5/8" wide x 26-1/8" deep, and it requires a cutout of 12-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" wide x 26-1/4"...
