Thule T2 Bike Rack Lock Knob Just Spins and Won't Loosen

Question:

My Thule T2 Pro bike rack won’t unlock. I haven’t used it in a couple of years but it’s been inside the house. It locked fine but now just spins so I can’t get it off the car. Thanks

In regards to a Thule T2 Bike Rack, the locking knob will free spin while locked. If the lock is unlocked that is when you will feel tension when turning. This is the most common mistake we see when removing or installing the rack. If the lock core is not turning inside the knob, try some graphite powder. If this still does not help, the locking mechanism may have come apart and will need to replaced paired or replaced.
