Troubleshooting a Stuck Locking Mechanism On A Thule T2 Pro XT Bike Rack

Question:

Hi there. I have installed and removed my Thule T2 Pro XT bike rack several times and this time I cannot get the locking mechanism unlocked. The key s just fine, but it will not turn either direction and as such I cannot unlock the mechanism so it wont engage the loosening / tightening mechanism and I cannot remove the rack. Any hints?

To loosen the locking mechanism on your Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount Item # TH903202 you'll want to spray some silicon spray or graphite dust into the lock and try working the key in and out and side to side carefully to avoid breaking the key. I recommend the silicon spray and graphite dust over WD40 as it will usually lead to a build up of grime over time whereas the silicon spray or graphite dust will not.
