Question:

I have a new 2022 Chevy express van. It has the factory installed trailering wire harness provision. What do I need to complete the trailer wiring with brake controller? Thank you!

First you will need to locate the brake controller wires in your 2022 Chevrolet Express van. One you have located the wires you will need to use a Test Light # PTW2993 to verify that the wiring is functioning properly. You should have a power wire, brake switch signal wire, ground wire and a wire going to the 7-way at the back of the vehicle. With all these functioning properly you will be able to connect a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. If they are not functioning you will need to contact your Chevrolet dealer to determine what all is required to get all the wires functioning properly.

For the trailer connector I recommend using the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket # HM40975. This will give you a factory style connector with both a 4-way flat and 7-way blade connector. It will connect to the factory connector for the trailer wiring provision on your van.
