Question:

This is a 2019 Grand Design 351M 5th wheel toyhauler. I have a broken shackle, and the 3,500 lb. springs, for the 7,000 lb. axles are pretty flattened. I want to replace the springs with 4,000 lb. springs. The 8,000 lb. axles were an option, so the frame should be good. Be nice to do the axles too, but that will have to wait. It has the Lippert Equiflex equalizers that have badly chewed up rubber. So I would like to replace those and install wet bolts at the same time. The old springs, measured with the trailer sitting on them, are about 26 1/2inch long, eye-to-eye. But as I said they are pretty flat. The shackles are 2 1/4inch long. Im not sure what length springs I need. What is your recommendation? The wheel spacing is 35, center to center. Thank you for any help.

The 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-pound Trailer Axles # DX74XR will work for your 2019 Grand Design Toyhauler.

The springs have a sturdy steel construction and the nylon bushings are included. The spring capacity is 4,000 pounds and the axle capacity is 8,000 pounds.

The length from center of spring eye to center of spring eye is 24-7/8 inches.

The shakle straps associated with the spring are 2-5/8 inches long # 115052.

For a wet shackle bolt that you can add grease to with the fitting on the end use # 126B2. The dry version is # 166081.
