How Is Replacement 22-1/2" Right Rear Leg for Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Measured

Updated 04/19/2026 | Published 04/13/2026

Question:

On the 22 1/2inch Lippert jack LC428493, is 22 1/2foot length the total length from the top of the jack to the bottom of the pad? As in total length of the entire unit, or is it measured differently. Am asking because on the camper that I bought there is little ground clearance to the bottom of the jack 6 The overall length of the entire unit that I have is a little less than 24 1/2. Also what is the recommended ground clearance to the bottom of the jack pad? Thankyou, Chuck

Hey Chuck! The Replacement 22-1/2" Right Rear Leg for Lippert Ground Control 3.0 # LC428493 is 22-1/2" when retracted. This is measured from the top of the jack to the bottom of the footpad. It sits at 35" overall when fully extended.

I'm guessing this system was put on at the factory, and 5-7" of clearance is pretty common. More is typically better, but at 6" it is unlikely you will have an issue unless you're dealing with some pretty uneven terrain.

If you wanted to switch to the shorter leg for better clearance you can, but you will need to swap out all of the legs which will add up fast. If you're looking for a right rear replacement, the # LC344792 will match what you have on there now.

What kind of trailer do you have?

I replaced both of my rear legs with the 22.5 in I have a 2021grandsign 260RD and damaged the right leg mounting bracket and need to replace it so i never liked how low the the legs were made the decision to replace them at that time. It gave me and extra 2" of clearance
