Can I Use My Friends 27 inch RV Springs to Replace my 26 inch Springs on my RV

Question:

My RV has 26 leaf springs and there pretty shot. A friend has some 27 springs that he bought the wrong size. Im wondering if I would be ok to install them with the extra length.

Over time leaf springs typically elongate do to normal wear. You have indicated that yours have been well used, so if your current leaf spring is 26 inches long the original length could have been even shorter. I could not recommend that you use your friend's 27 inch leaf springs. These would likely be far too long for your application.

To determine the correct replacement springs for your RV you will need to is take the pressure off of your leaf springs and then measure the center-to-center distance between the eyes. Then you will need to use this measurement to determine the correct replacement springs for your RV.
