Bracket Positioning for Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control

Question:
I have a 16 foot cargo trailer with a short tongue. The angle brackets are 28 inch from ball to front of trailer. Will this unit work? Thanks RE94FR

The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control # RE94FR is designed for the mounting brackets to be positioned 24-1/2" - 27-1/2" back from center of coupler. If you're able to position the brackets about 1/2" closer to the hitch ball that gets you within the range needed for this system.
