How to Carry 4 Bikes on a 2017 Ford F-150 for Everyday Use and When Towing a Travel Trailer

Question:
I need a way to transport my bikes, and there are so many choices, I have no idea where to start. I’m looking for something I can use with just my son and I driving to a local bike trail, but is versatile that I could take all 4 bikes camping. Can you make some recommendations based on these factors? 1 fat tire 4”x20” ebike, weight 59 pounds 3 other various bikes, wheel size ranging from 24”-26” RetraxPro XR tonneau cover installed in a 2017 F-150 bedrug liner 2” factory installed hitch Occasionally tow a 21’ travel trailer

The best hitch mounted bike rack for your 4 bikes is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 4 Fat Bikes # HR1400Z-FB because it holds up to 50 lb bikes (you should be able to remove the battery on your e-bike to decrease the weight) with up to 5" wide tires and the outer 2 bike positions can be removed to make it simpler for when it's just you and your son going to the local bike trail. The only time this throws a wrench in the works is when it comes time to haul your travel trailer as well since this rack isn't rated for use on a travel trailer.
None of our bike racks are rated for a travel trailer and carrying your heavy e-bike so the only other solutions are to install a front hitch on your 2017 Ford F-150 with the Draw-Tite # 65067 (which means you'll be placing a 47-1/8" long rack ad the front of your vehicle) or by utilizing your truck bed for your bikes with a tailgate pad bike the Yakima GateKeeper # Y48AR. These are universal fits and are designed to help keep your bikes from bouncing around in the bed during travel.
For the best of both worlds you can use the Sport Rider SE for everyday use and then the GateKeeper for when you'll be traveling with your travel trailer.
