This hitch is confirmed fit for your 2018 Mazda CX-9. I recommend going with the item # 76020. Even though it weighs slightly more it is by far the better option because it has a 2" receiver. 2" receivers have a higher capacity and a far wider range of options for accessories.

If you are going to be doing any towing you will need the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118278 to control your trailer's lighting functions.

If you decide to go with the 2" hitch I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
