Charge Output Too High On Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter - 60 Amp

Question:
I suspect my converter charge function has a problem. I pulled all the load fuses 11 to prevent further damage because I was seeing 16.5+ dcv output from it and it smoked all three of the MaxxAir fan controllers in my rig and drives the fridge crazy. When connected to shore, I get 16.5v output out of my charger. I pull the reverse battery fuses and the voltage s to 13.6 because there is no load. I have even removed the solar charge controller and made my system shore power and battery with no load and it still jumps to 16.5+vdc. If I unplug shore and run solar and batt, all works fine except my damaged fans of course. Sound logical?

Expert Reply:
The converter output of the Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger part # PD4060K should be between 12.6 and 13.6 VDC depending on if a load is present. If you're seeing more than this then it would indeed indicate a faulty converter. If you are no longer under warranty you can replace the converter with the Replacement Converter Section for Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series RV Power Control Center part # PD4060CSV.
Please note, further diagnostic troubleshooting if needed will need to be preformed by an authorized service center.
