How to wire up a hot tankless gas water heater?

Expert Reply:

The Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR48SR has four wires coming out of the back of it; one white wire for your ground, one black wire for your 12v power, and two blue wires that will communicate with your thermostat.

You can test your old wiring from your previous water heater with a digital multimeter # PT89ZR to determine which is your power and which is your ground on your trailer's wiring.

You can use some butt connectors # 05731-5 and a crimper # PTW30764 to splice your wiring together. The orientation of the blue communication wires doesn't matter so either one on the tank can be spliced to either one on the thermostat. You'll most likely need some additional wire as well to make the connections.
