What Size Wire Should Be Used For The Shore/Battery Connections On The PD Mighty Mini?
Updated 06/16/2022 | Published 06/14/2022 >
Question:
Im converting an enclosed trailer into a workshop space and just purchased this unit from you as my power center. Im looking to get the right cables to run to the battery, but Im not sure which Amp rating I should use to choose the wire. The 30A rating of the shore power connection, or the 60A rating of the battery charger. It seems this could be a difference of using anywhere from 6 AWG to 10 AWG. Im inclined to go larger, but wanted to get your recommendation first.

For your Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger # PD4060K you're actually going to have two separate lines running to/from your converter charger.
One for your shore power, which is 30A,, and one to your batteries.
For your 30A shore power connection, you'll want to use a 10 AWG sized wire, and for your 60A run, you'll want to use 6 AWG.
I have included an installation video as well for you to check out.
