Troubleshooting Low Voltage At AC Inlet On A Mini AC/DC Panel And Converter/Smart Charger

Updated 07/20/2021 | Published 07/18/2021

Question:

Hi, I am testing the AC power feeds to the PD4060K converter and it reads only 25 volts. I know I have the meter set correctly because when I check an AC outlet I get proper reading of 125 volts. I also checked the converter circuit breaker and that is working. Im not sure what is going on. What I do know is that the charger is not charging my house batteries. TIA!

Low voltage at the AC power inlet but not at the outlet would indicate you have a wiring issue. I would first check the wiring for any damage or bends in the wiring and if no damage is present then you need to upgrade the wire gauge used to negate the voltage drop. I have attached a chart to help you determine the gauge needed depending on the length your wire is being ran.

If this doesn't not solve your issue please reply back and we can keep troubleshooting.
