What Style Of Weight Distribution System Has Better Ground Clearance?
Updated 06/14/2022 | Published 06/12/2022 >
Question:
*INTERNAL* Do have any guidance on ground clearance for weight distribution kit? We tow with a 2016 Ford F-150 crew cab xlt a wildwood 2021 27rk. FYI shocks and leaf springs on truck are perfect. The dealer says they have raised the Reese hitch as High as it can go and replaced a part. Any info appreciated. I’ve attached a pic for reference.

A weight distribution system that has the trunnion bars will definitely offer more ground clearance at the trailer coupler because the bars don't extend below the weight distribution head. The round rails do sit further below, but it all depends on what the tow tongue weight of the trailer is.
The Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank - Round Bar - 10,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW # RP67509 has a round bar setup.
The Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank - Trunnion Bar - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW # RP66541 has a trunnion bar setup.
If you provide me with the recommended information on the tongue weight I can help you find the correct weight distribution system.
I attached a few helpful articles below that will help determine your trailer's tongue weight and also one about how weight distribution works.
