Equalizer Won't Get Truck Back to Factory Ride Height On 2022 Ram 2500

Updated 06/09/2022 | Published 06/08/2022

Question:

Just switched to a new tow vehicle, to go with the new trailer, and want some input. Trailer is a 2022 model 2205s, TV is a 2022 Ram 2500 4x4 crew standard bed, Hitch is an Equalizer 4 point. Connected everything up today and have some numbers. I went with a 16 inch long stinger so the tailgate s without hitting the power tongue jack. Measuring per Equalizers sheet I get the following - Just the truck - 41 in front 43¼ rear Truck with weight of trailer on the ball and jack off the ground- 41½ front 41½ back Truck, trailer, and bars on- 41 front and 42 back I am at the lowest hole setting on my hitch and am ¾ inch nose up on trailer. Rear end of TV is down 1.25 inches squat. Recommendations? I am using 6 washers on the hitch. I am getting a 7 pin cable extender, this was the first time connected up. Am I good, re-adjust, air bags, Timbren, Sumo bump stops? Thanks for your help.

I do have an option for you but even when setup and adjusted properly, your weight distribution still may not get you back to the factory ride height. That is not always an issue but if you want to improve this even further you can look into suspension enhancements like air bags which is what I recommend. These are pretty commonly combined with a weight distribution system and should get you to factory ride height. I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57289.
