Can The Lamp-Out Bypass Be Used To Gain a Reverse Signal For Mercedes Sprinter Van

Hello, I am trying to detect when the reverse lights come on via the trailer light hookup. I will be programming a computer to recognize when it receives a voltage from the reverse light trailer plug and data logging it. Since our Sprinter has lamp out sensors will either of the products linked below solve the issue of no signal on trailer light hookup? Will the products alone provide enough resistance to make the Sprinter think there is a trailer or do I need these products in addition to the resistance of LED lights for the Sprinter to detect a trailer?

Both the Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass # 20142 and 7-Way to 5-Way/4-Way Trailer Adapter for Vehicles with Lamp-Out Sensors # C35FR will only function in conjunction with the trailer connected with LED lamps. The trailer completes the trailer circuit wiring.
As the wiring is very complicated on the Mercedes Sprinter Van I recommend contacting a Mercedes Service Center as they will have the best information available to determine what you will need to install without causing any error codes to come up on your dash.
