Question:

I have a Pro S AWD coming and it comes with a 1 1/4inch hitch. I would like to replace it with this hitch so I can use my existing bike and cargo racks. Do I have to remove the smaller hitch to get this to work? Are there instructions for that? Also, does the existing hitch come with wiring or do I need to get a wiring kit as well?

I reached out to Curt who informed me that you will need to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C57JR on your 2021 Volkswagen ID 4 Pro S 4wd that comes with the factory hitch. This will bolt in place of the 1-1/4" receiver and give you the 2" receiver you are wanting.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C47JR is only for models that do not have the factory receiver.

The wiring will come with the factory tow package you are getting.
