Question:
I understand that the fit depends on if Toyota or Lexus wired the part. The listing says I need to check the wiring against the diagram shown. Im not sure what I should exactly be checking, the color and order of the wires, the color of the connector housing, etc. Also, will the pony tail be long enough to mount the adapter in the same place on my 2004 Tundra? Thank you for the help. You have been a great company for all my trailer related needs.

I have included a picture for you that will help. On your 2004 Toyota Tundra, find the connector under the truck that # HM43385 would plug into. Then use a circuit tester, # PTW2993 if you do not have one, to test the pins on the 3-pin part. The pins should be a mirror opposite of what you see in the picture. If they are not you would need to use # 20137 instead.
The wiring harness part of either of these connectors should be plenty long enough to mount the connector where you need to. They are considered OEM replacements, but you may find that you will need to mount either one in a different location. Mounting location depends on several factors so once you have the connector you can make that determination.
