Question:

Hi - I have this part attached to my Yakima trailer and the only thing securing the coupler to the trailer are two bolts. As far as I can tell, someone has to simply undo the two bolts and then can attach their own coupler and take off with the trailer. What do you suggest? Thank you

Typically a coupler like the Trailer Coupler for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailers # Y08123 would be secured with a lock like the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock # e98894. This is typically enough to deter theft. Removal of a coupler and installation of another to steal a trailer is not typically a problem. If you really wanted to secure the bolts you could use something like red Loctite. Keep in mind, you will likely have to cut the bolts off if you ever need to remove the coupler.
