Can Yakima Viper Bike Rack be Adapted to Fit Aero Crossbars

Question:

I would like to mount my old yakima viper bike rack that is on round bars to my 2014 dodge durango that has flat bars that span the width of the vehicle as opposed to the vehicle it came off of that ran lengthwise. Can I use the universal mighty mounts to attach to my new flat bars and then attach the round bars to the new universal mighty mounts? What other hardware would I need to attach the round bars to the universal mighty mounts? I have added a photograph of the viper rack. Thank you in advance!

We've checked with Yakima in the past and they've told us that they do not make an adapter for the Viper bike racks to allow them to fit the aero shaped bars you mentioned.

For a similar bike rack that does fit your 2014 Dodge Durango we have the Yakima Forklift part # Y02098 which would work great.

Hi, I have a Yakima roof bike rack that can only be attached to round or square bars, but I have the Mazda branded version of the Thule Aeroblade Edge (oval bars). Are there any attachments that mount to these aerodynamic bars that can then attach to a round or square bar?

@Alex We used to carry the Thule Ride ON adapter 532 that would have worked for this but it's no longer available. Depending on what roof bike rack you have the universal MightyMounts part # Y03590 could work but without knowing which rack you have I can't say for certain. Yakima does list this as a fit for most of their racks though.
