Question:

I purchased the mats you recommended, great product. I am looking to purchase the tow hitch now. Do you still recommend the Draw-Tite DT58MR trailer hitch or is there something newer that you recommend. Also, would you please provide me the suggested accessories? This hitch is going to be used mostly for a bike hitch (Y02443-2) and possible some a luggage - but nothing in terms of a camper or oversized trailer. Do you sell a hitch cover?

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # DT58MR is still an excellent choice for your 2021 Tesla Model Y and it allows you to replace that removeable fascia so you won't need a hitch cover. The only other trailer hitch available at this time (May 2022) is the EcoHitch # EH39FR. This is also a solid option but it sits at a higher price-point and you install a bracket on the fascia cover so you can still utilize it. So the EcoHitch might stick out just a tad further but they have a work-around for the fascia. I still recommend going with the Draw-Tite.

The Yakima HoldUp # Y02443-2 is a good choice for a bike rack. It does use an anti-rattle hitch bolt though so since the receiver is back inside the fascia it will take a little longer to tighten down that bolt completely (due to clearance for the ratchet) but it's still possible. If you plan on installing and removing the rack fairly often (and you don't already have the HoldUp) you might be interested in the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z which has similar specs but this uses a standard locking hitch pin and a tool-free anti-rattle setup so the low-clearance isn't even a factor.
