2012 Honda CR-V

Received the order super fast and in perfect condition! The install took quite a bit longer than the 30 minutes stated but was still pretty straight- forward and not too difficult. The printed instructions do not go into great detail, especially as to measuring where to trim the appearence panel, but still, all was manageable. Looks like a well made product and so much cheaper than buyint from the dealer!!

  • Replacement Hardware for Curt Trailer Hitch on 2016 Honda CR-V
You sure can get the hardware for Curt hitch # C13119. All you need to do is go to Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches # RHK and in the "Hitch Item Number" box enter C13119, then select "Curt" from the "Manufacturer" drop-down menu and you're all set. Please note this hitch is going to require the use of stabilizing straps # 18050 with all non-trailer accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers in order to maintain the warranty. I've added a link to a demonstration video...

  • Recommended Flat Towing Base Plate and Wiring for a 2013 or 2014 Honda CR-V
For a 2013 Honda CR-V we have the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX2258 that will work well with your Blue Ox Tow Bar. I recommend using Loctite Threadlocker # LT37420 for this installation. For your vehicle wiring, I recommend the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56304 which is the easiest kit to install with no splicing required and connects directly to the Honda wiring harness behind the tail lights. You will also need the 48" Long 4-Pole Loop...

  • Cargo Weight Capacity of Hitch Carrier Used on Honda CR-V
It sounds like you have a lot of cargo to transport in and on your Honda CR-V. Hitch carriers like the 22-1/2x49 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18113 are a great way to move heavy cargo items that might be too difficult to get up on your roof. Most vehicle roofs are limited to a weight rating of 165-lbs or less and this is only a fraction of the weight that can be carried on a hitch carrier. But these hitch carriers are not intended to hold a large rooftop cargo box. The issue is that such a cargo...

  • Replacement Hardware Kit for a Curt Hitch C13119
Hey Jim. The only option I have to replace the bolts for the Curt Hitch item # C13119 is to purchase the Replacement Hardware Kit item # RHK. This kit will have the bolts you need in the correct size and grade. You will want to go to the item # RHK product page and on the right hand side where it says Hitch Item Number you'll want to insert C13119. This will have the four HHCS,M10x1.25,30,CL10.9,YZ bolts you need to complete your installation.

  • Fit and Compatibility of Trailer Hitch Fitting Both a 2012 and 2015 Honda CR-V
Great news! While I wasn't able to find which hitch you purchased for your 2012, I was able to confirm all the hitches we have listed that fit the 2012 Honda CR-V will also fit the 2015 Honda CR-V. Here is a list of part numbers that fit both the 2012 and 2015 CR-V's: Draw-Tite 2 inch # 75742 Draw-Tite 1-1/4 # 36520 Curt 2 inch # C13119 Curt 1-1/4 # C11555 I have linked them all to this page for your convenience.

The trailer hitches we offer for your 2015 Honda CR-V like the Draw Tite part # 75742 use bolt size M10X1.25X30 CL8.8 with matching washers and nuts. It also uses a 3/8-16 u-bolt as well. We offer all of the parts needed as a kit as part # RHK. Which on this product page you'd enter the part number of the hitch you have and select the manufacturer and we'll ship you out what you need.

  • Is There A Class II Trailer Hitch Confirmed To Fit A 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Model
Hi Alan, The Class II hitches available for a 2023 Honda CR-V unfortunately aren't a fit for hybrid models but we do have a Class III hitch # C13397 that has been confirmed to fit. If you have an accessory that requires a 1-1/4" receiver tube then you can just use a reducer # e63YR. If you plan on towing a trailer at some point you'll also need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118741 to transfer your light signals.

  • Will a 2016 Honda CR-V Curt Hitch Fit a 2022 Honda CR-V Model
Thanks for reaching out, Ryan! The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13119 on your 2016 Honda CR-V will not fit your newer 2022 Honda CR-V model so we'll need to get you a new one. For that I recommend the Curt # C13397 which actually has a more appealing design since the crosstube is hidden (see attached photo). This is also a Class 3 hitch so it will be the same as far as functionality goes.

  • Replacement U-Bolt for Curt Hitch On Honda CR-V
I do have an option for you to obtain the correct replacement hardware for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13119 which is a fit for a Honda CR-V. That said, you should replace all hardware when the hitch is removed, not just what is not reusable. We actually only offer full hardware kits part # RHK for this reason. If you only wish to obtain a select few which I don't recommend you'll have to take a trip to the local hardware store unfortunately.

  • Choosing Correct Hitch Tongue Weight Capacity for Using a 4-Bike Platform Bike Rack on Honda CR-V
The Curt Class III trailer hitch # C13119 does have a 350-lb tongue weight (TW) rating as you noted, and that capacity must be enough for the weight of the bike rack itself plus that of your loaded bikes. A substantial 4-bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z weighs about 80-lbs all by itself. Add the bikes and you are indeed talking about a hefty load on the hitch. In your case I absolutely agree that using a higher-rated hitch like Draw-Tite # 75742 is the way to...

Be sure to enter the receiver # C13119 when ordering so you get the correct hardware for this receiver to fit on your 2013 Honda CR-V. Be sure to use a Brush # 814092 to clean out the threads of the factory nuts in the frame on your CR-V. This will help to reduce the chances of damaging the hardware during installation. • Best Trailer Hitch for a 2016 Honda CR-V Between Curt and Draw-Tite
Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75742 for your 2016 Honda CR-V is slightly more recessed under the vehicle than Curt hitch # C13119. You can see in the picture that they are both just about flush with the end of the rear bumper. The picture showing the Draw-Tite hitch from the side is a little misleading though because it isn't a straight on side shot. Still it is a hair more recessed than the Curt. I have also included links to videos showing example installations of these hitches for you....

  • What Size Hardware is Used to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Honda CR-V
For the hardware used to install trailer hitches on your 2013 Honda CR-V it will depend on the hitch. Draw-Tite Class III hitch # 75742 and Class II hitch # 36520 use Hex Bolt M10X1.25X30 CL8.8 and a 3/8-16 U-Bolt. Curt trailer hitch # C11555 uses 1/2-13 x 2-1/2 LG and 2-7/16-14 x 1-1/2 carriage bolts along with matching block spacers. Curt hitch # C13119 uses a 7/16 - 14 x 1.75" x 1.00" C-C u-bolt and M10 - 1.25 x 30 hex bolts. If you have one of these hitches but not the hardware you...

  • How to Correct Rust on Trailer Hitch
The protective black powder coat finish on a Curt or Draw-Tite hitch like # C13119 does eventually break down from exposure but this is not considered a warranty issue. This normal wear and tear can best be addressed by applying a new layer of rust-inhibiting spray paint, such as Rust-O-Leum brand or a similar product you can find at any local hardware or paint store. Sanding off the rusted areas before applying the paint is recommended. The linked article includes information on hitch...

I would say that you will want the 2 inch size as whenever available they are the way to go. So that narrows down the options a bit and it comes down to which 2 inch hitch? At this point you have two very distinct options. The mostly hidden but longer to install EcoHitch part # 306-X7297 which...

  • Solution for Trailer Hitch Install Hardware that Seems to Big to Thread Into Vehicle Weldnut
The problem you are experiencing is pretty common for vehicles that have seen a couple winters. What happens is the weld nuts get a bit of corrosion in them and that prevents the bolts from being able to thread. This makes it seem like the nuts are too small. I checked your order notes and you're up north where the winters are pretty harsh too so that makes this even more likely. What you'll need to do it clean the weld nuts out so that you can thread the included bolts. I have included...

  • Can Underbody Panel be Trimmed without Removing for Hitch Install on a 2016 Honda CR-V
Removing the panel on the 2016 Honda CR-V allows for easier access and installation of trailer hitch # C13119 but if you can install it by just trimming that panel AND if the panel can still be secured properly to the vehicle then yes you could just trim it. But I would not recommend trimming it while still on the vehicle because there is always a risk, even if a small risk, of accidently cutting something behind that panel so it is best to take it off, trim it, and put it back on.

  • Will Adding Trailer Hitch Negatively Affect Steering, Braking, or Gas Mileage of 2014 Honda CR-V
The Curt trailer hitch # C13119 weighs about 30 pounds or so. Its affect on gas mileage would basically be non-existent. You would never notice a change. The way a person drives would have more of an effect than adding a little weight to the vehicle so no worries there. Also, given that the hitch is relatively light it isn't going to affect the handling of the vehicle at all. The weight of the hitch is not going to compress the rear suspension so the handling, braking, steering, everything,...
