Helpful Expert Reply:
I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98857 for your 2007 Toyota Highlander. This receiver has a solid steel construction with precision, robotic welding to eliminate the chance of rattle when going over bumps. It uses a matte black finish to give it a factory appearance and it is made in the USA.
When using a Solid-Tow Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w Stainless Balls # DTSTBM6400-2S removes any play from the receiver to the hitch ball to prevent rattle. It is constructed of Solid aluminum and stainless steel components so you will not have to deal with rust and corrosion. Using White Grease Hitch Ball Lube # 58117 will also help to cut down on sound from the hitch ball inside the coupler when towing.
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118413 will provide you with a 4-way flat connector needed for small trailers. This will connect to the tail lights on your Highlander using factory style connectors so no wire splicing is required.
