How To Use Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch On 2018 Ram 2500 with RamBox

Question:

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 6-1/2 ft bed WITH ramboxes. Which Andersen 5th Wheel hitch would be best? There is no Puck system as the Ramboxes don’t permit that set up.

In order to use the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter - 20,000 lbs part # AM3200 on a 2018 Ram 2500 with RamBox you'll need the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP50054-58. According to Anderson, in order to prevent any issues with the RamBox, the red coupler needs to be turned 180 degrees so it sits in front of the hitch. That reduces your offset to 1 inch but if you have a 6-1/2 foot bed it will work with limited turning clearances unless you have a rounded 5th wheel trailer.
