Comparing The Brophy # AS24 And Torklift # TLA7844 For Truck Bed Camper With Limited Mounting Space

Hello, Im looking for a 4 step **removable** scissor step solution for my truck camper. I really like the Torklift Landing Gears on the Torklift steps Im looking at, but it isnt really designed to be removable like the Brophy model. I watched the video and I see that the Torklift model can be removed, but it isnt as easy. The video which is excellent, by the way mentions that the bracket needs about 3 inches to mount it but my flatbed has about 2.5 inches of space. Will I be voiding the warranty if I drill more holes into the mounting bracket if I choose to go with the Torklift? Regarding the Brophy, I dont see a warranty mentioned about it where the Torklift has a lifetime warranty. Can you tell me what the warranty on the Brophy steps is please? Also am curious if I were to go with the Brophy steps, and buy the Torklift landing gear separately, will you all install them prior to shipping the step to me? Is custom work something you do? We camp on uneven ground a lot and I will require the landing gear. Thanks for reading and helping me figure this out. If there are other 4 step removable scissor steps with have similar landing gear of the Torklift ones, Im all ears. Thanks again.

Not following the manufacturer's instructions to the letter will give them an excuse if something were to happen so while I can't recommend drilling the extra holes to ensure it's safely mounted, it's the only way that the steps will work with your application.
I called Brophy and the warranty for their steps is a 1-year warranty.
As for connecting the landing gears of the TorkLift GlowStep # TLA7844 to the Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # AS24, this is something that we would not be able to do. We don't carry the landing gears separately and unapproved modifications to the steps would most certainly void the warranty.
The # AS24 would certainly be the easier mounting option since they don't require as much mounting space as the # TLA7844 do but, since you camp on uneven terrain I would add a support piece to the camper to give you the correct amount of space for mounting. The GlowSteps are going to give you much better support and stability for a more enjoyable camping experience.
