Expert Reply:
While you are within the weight capabilities of your 2017 Honda Ridgeline without needing a weight distribution hitch I do recommend using a Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET. This will help to level your Ridgeline since you will be at the higher end of your weight capacity. That will ensure you do not get any diminished braking or light steering feel from the front end rising due to rear end sag. The hitch system also incorporates sway control for the trailer. This is a feature that will help keep your trailer tracking straight on the highway and will reduce or eliminate any sway in the trailer caused by high winds or turbulence from large trucks.
This hitch includes a 2" hitch ball that requires a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to tighten the ball. If your trailer requires a 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6100 will be needed as well.
