Published 04/13/2022

Question:

I currently have 6” of vertical clearance measured from the top of axle housing to the bottom side of my frame rail.it’s my understanding the timbren system once installed should be 1” clearance above the axle housing.I can find any dimensions for them I guess if there overall height is 5” they would work and I would order.I own a regular cab straight frame F-650 that weighs 13,000 lbs empty with a GVW of 26000 lbs, thank you

The Timbren # TBDR750 measures about 9-1/2 inches in height, from the bottom of the spring to the top of the mounting bracket, so that's not going to work for you.

I spoke to my Timbren representative, and was told that given the 6 inches of clearance you have between the axle tube and the underside of the frame member, you'd want to use part # TFR650LP. The # TFR650LP sits right about 5-1/2 inches tall which will leave a 1/2 inch gap, which according to Timbren is acceptable, as they'll want to see a gap of between 1/2 and 1-1/2 inches with the truck unloaded.
