Published 04/12/2022 >
Question:
Hello, I am doing an FEA Analysis on the 2004 Honda S2000 trailer hitch I bought from your website for a final project in my Computer Aided Engineering class. I am hoping you can tell me what type of steel the hitch is manufactured with. Also what material is used for the hardware supplied the bolts, washers, and nuts. Thanks in advance!

I just heard back from my rep at Curt. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C11198, for your 2004 Honda S2000 is made with A36 steel. As far as the bolts and hardware, they are out sourced from Great Lakes Fasteners in Ohio and they use grade 8 steel.
