Are Test Lights Always on For Curt Adapter 4 Way to 7-Blade With Test Lamps
Updated 03/17/2022 | Published 03/16/2022 >
Question:
After this is correctly installed, when are the test lights lit up? Are the test lights on all the time? Or do the test lights light up only when a trailer is plugged in? Part 2: What do the test lights really indicate? * If a test light is on, does that mean that the circuit is complete, the connection from the vehicle to the trailer and back is all good, plus also indicating the trailer light bulb is not burned out? Is that what the test light means? * Or does the test light being ON mean that the electricity is being provided as far as the vehicle end of this connector? Meaning that the test light does not does not tell us anything about the trailer status Thanks for explaining exactly what the test light means!

That's a good question, and when installed correctly, the lights will be on when the vehicle's circuit is functioning properly for the Adapter 4 Way to 7-Blade RV Connector w/Test Lamps # C96KR.
The test light does NOT indicate there is any issue with a trailer bulb, just that the vehicle wiring is complete and accurate. So the # C96KR does not give you a status regarding your trailer, just the vehicle.
