On the wiring kit that I just put on my 2015 town and country Why did I need to run the wire to the battery I’ve never had to do that before

This wiring harness require a connection to run the wire to a battery because the electrical system on your 2015 Chrysler Town and Country cannot handle the amperage draw from the trailer lights. The ModuLite converter box that comes with the # 118534 protect your vehicle's sensitive electrical system.
