Is it Normal For Trailer Axle to Not have Grease Fitting
Question:
My Dexter axles 6000# in my 2018 Forest River GLX 286 RL has Dexter Axles in it. I took off the little cover from the wheel cone and there is no rubber cover for a grease zert. Is that normal? Can I install some EZ lube bearing lubers?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Not all trailer axles have the EZ lube zerk fitting so what you have is totally normal. You can use a Bearing Buddy like you mentioned but we have found is that the Bearing Buddies make it too easy to add too much grease which then blows out the grease seal. We recommend packing the bearings by hand like you can see in the attached video.
